What determines the price of a painting?
The price of a painting consists of the necessary material costs, but the artist also makes many costs that a buyer often does not see. Think of the costs of art events, trade fairs, PR and ICT and of course the time needed to make a painting. Purchasing directly from the artist saves 40/50% of the cost of a painting purchased through a gallery. If you want to be cheaper, think about purchasing an HD metal reproduction.
